Imagine you are trying to upgrade your workspace and for some reason, you don’t want to share the credentials of the users, how are you getting your content migrated from Slack to Teams? We know that in this scenario, retrieving the inventory in HTML and then posting it in the target using the service account could be a way out. But then, don’t you think it would consume ample time to open every conversation as a separate link, and then getting it posted in the target using the service account is a tedious task? It’d definitely consume enough time and effort but then the conversations wouldn’t also look similar in the target as it is posted using a service account. Your employees or the users would find it difficult to experience and encounter a whole new workspace with no sync up of the previous work.
So, what’s the solution?
Mapping the Source user with the relevant Target user will help to achieve the desired results. This method will help to get the conversations migrated as it is from Slack to Teams.
The users in the target are added in the Teams based on user mapping if the Slack and Teams have the same Active Directory. To achieve the User Mapping migration, we need a Target User’s Tenant Authentication. By using the agile methodology and carefully altering the code of our migration solution, we can get the messages in target as same as the source without the target user credentials.
