Business Challenge

The client’s existing website was built on conventional Lotus Notes technology.

  • The key problem was that their site’s inability to deal with product line growth and all contents related to it (catalogs, articles and documents).
  • Any level of modification to the new product line was time consuming and cumbersome.
  • Due to multiple product lines, large set of catalogs, articles, products and their related contents were kept in two different Database.
  • The old site demanded lotus notes expertise to maintain the system even for small changes and updates.
  • The existing search was ineffective and not accurate. Overall the system had scalability, UX, and search issues which had to be dealt immediately.

  • The issue in the Lotus Notes database migration to SharePoint 2013 is that the database structure was entirely different.
  • We followed a phased migration strategy of creating domino XML’s, intermediate tables and moving the records from one database to another database without any data loss.
