The client is pioneer in Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) with 40+ years of heritage in outsourced MRO. They act as catalyst for some of the best-known companies in the world to lower costs and increase the performance of their MRO supply chain.

Business Challenge

Synchronize offline data

  • The organization was using Web Application to manage their stock details in warehouse.
  • The “Web Application” is not accessible from warehouse since there is no network connectivity. So the stock update process was done manually in offline mode.
  • The client has to rely highly on the manual process, which was error prone and in-efficient.

How Avasoft helped?

AVASOFT Mobile Middleware

  • AVASOFT proposed the solution to sync different types of database to the client.
  • Analysed their existing framework which suits for their requirement. Planned a road map to synchronize the component database with existing sync architecture.
  • Structured metadata and build the reports using sync framework 2.1. Achieved one way & two way synchronization.
  • Tested with the sample application for synchronizating the data from source to its destination database (i.e., SQL Server to SQL Express).

Value Additons to Customer

Mobile Middleware leveraged offline automation

  • This solution utilized the existing IT infrastructure without any new spends.
  • Mobile middleware leveraged offline automation between device-to-database interaction without impacting user experience and performance.
  • The information available in the mobile device helps in tracking the items in the inventory on real-time.
  • Bar code scanner captures ID to validate with synced DB in the cycle count process.
  • Role based / access driven security were added to middleware for better control.

Business Gain

  • An alternate model for data entry using mobile eliminates the intermediate need for saving data which was earlier done using Paper/manual mode recordings.
  • Re-entering the manual data in web system which is in remote.
  • Single entry option is now available in mobile.
  • Right information from warehouse eliminated entry errors and improved efficiency of warehouse operators.

Avasoft Leverages

  • AVASOFT recommended the solution to use a mobile device with offline facility.
  • The Mobile app is developed to achieve offline storage and online sync with database.
  • Closely worked with client to re-build the logics for Mobility.
  • Mobile native app for platform such as IOS, Android and Windows were designed to cater warehouse employees who carried different mobile phones.
