Buisness Challenge

  • Most point of sale (POS) software communicates with inventory to keep everything in balance. High profile business users make use of multi-faceted POS apps, some of which are custom built for their needs. Small scale business users can’t afford to build or purchase such high-priced applications for their business so many are moving towards cloud-based POS solutions that better suit their needs.
  • Clover is cloud-based POS platform that manages the Order, Register, Sale, Payment, Transactions and Inventory layers of the business by default. However, we found that there aren’t any applications on the market that can be used to handle future events, like scheduling an order, reminding a customer of their event, etc. As a result, 509 LLC came to us with the idea of creating an application that would manage future ordering for store owners. The challenge here pertained to integrating the pre-existing customer and inventory details from Clover with additional features like text alerts, notifications on scheduled orders to be prepared for that day, images for inventory items and stock quantities for items.

How Avasoft helped?

  • Avasoft designed an application that interacted with the Clover API and Clover Offline SDK to sync existing data from Clover so store owners using the application wouldn’t have to worry about keying in existing details into the application. The entire application was functional even when the device wasn’t connected to internet.
  • Additionally, the system supported online sync, so data was not lost if the store owner changed devices or in other extenuating circumstances. The application was also designed to alert customers of order progress and inform storeowners of the list of order items that had to be prepared every day, the customer’s previous order patterns and upcoming events for the customer. The application also allowed store owners to print out orders of each day.
