- Auto type ahead Query suggestions – Product Categories are populated as Query Suggestions, which will be available to user, as soon as the user starts typing the word in the search box.
- Keyword search – User is provided with the facility to perform search based on abbreviations. SharePoint Search thesaurus feature has been used to achieve this.
- Manufacturer part number search – The customer has the requirement where the user can perform a search based on manufacturer number, irrespective of the format in which it is entered. The custom logic that is written handles this requirement without much changes to the search architecture.
- Item property specific search – The users are provided with the facility to search using a specific product property, the results returned will be more specific rather than a generic word search.
- Customized refinement web parts – User is provided with custom refinement to further filter the search result.
