Business Challenge

  • The migration team manually verifies the API responses and corresponding properties updates for each action in Slack on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manually verifying properties for each user, channel, conversation, etc. is a tedious process and consumes a lot of productive hours.
  • Everyday maximum of 2 hours is spent on this repetitive task and manually doing it sometimes led to missing capturing the property updates.

How Avasoft helped?

  • Automated the Slack API verification process with a bot using the RPA technology.
  • On a daily basis, bot automatically performs all the human actions in the process and gets the API responses through HTTP Request.
  • During each task, the bot simultaneously verifies the parameters attached to it for any changes/updates.
  • Changes to Slack API properties are generated as a report and triggered as an email to the migration team.
  • Based on the report, the migration team make sures the patches ready for the product to avoid interruption inbetween the content migration.

Business Gain

  • Migration team saves 15-20 hours every month that was spent on manual API changes tracking
  • Bot generates reports at the user, channel, conversation levels, etc. making the property changes/updates transparent to the migration team
